Poland Arrests 4 in Takedown of DDoS Attack Rings

Polish authorities, collaborating with Europol and other international law enforcement agencies, have arrested four individuals accused of operating six distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) platforms. The takedown is part of a coordinated multinational effort to disrupt the growing market for DDoS-for-hire services—commonly known as “booter” or “stresser” sites.

According to officials, the seized platforms were linked to thousands of cyberattacks targeting organizations and individuals around the world. These services allowed users to pay for the ability to overwhelm websites and networks with malicious traffic, often rendering them inoperable.

The operation, which involved cross-border cooperation, highlights ongoing efforts to dismantle the infrastructure behind cybercrime services. Authorities did not disclose the names of the platforms or the identities of those arrested.

Europol emphasized the importance of international collaboration in tackling cyber threats that span jurisdictions, as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to combat the commercialization of cyberattacks.
