Microsoft Bug Makes OneDrive Searches Show Nothing
Microsoft has alerted users to a disruptive issue affecting its cloud storage platform, OneDrive. A Microsoft bug makes OneDrive’s search function display blank results, even though the files remain accessible through direct navigation. The company is investigating the issue but has not released a timeline for resolution or a temporary fix.
The Microsoft bug makes OneDrive less reliable for users who depend on seamless search functionality. Alongside the search problem, users have reported shortcut errors, sign-in failures, and display language mismatches. Some shared folder shortcuts are opening as web links instead of folders, creating confusion and additional login prompts.
Microsoft is also addressing a bug causing Personal Vault folders to show text in the wrong language. A partial fix is rolling out, and users can adjust their language settings as a workaround. In the UK, BT Broadband users must disable Web Protect to resolve OneDrive connectivity issues.
