Honeywell Finds 1,000 Threats in OT Log Review
Honeywell’s Advanced Monitoring and Incident Response (AMIR) service identified more than 1,000 cybersecurity incidents after analyzing 90 billion logs, reflecting a growing wave of threats targeting operational technology (OT) systems. The findings highlight the increasing complexity and frequency of cyber risks confronting industrial environments.
The AMIR service, which specializes in monitoring and investigating cybersecurity events across critical infrastructure, uncovered a range of suspicious activities by combing through vast amounts of log data. The discovery underscores the expanding attack surface in OT networks and the need for enhanced vigilance as cyber threats evolve.
The results follow mounting concerns over the vulnerability of industrial control systems, which are often less protected than their IT counterparts. The rise in incidents detected by Honeywell signals a shift in threat actor focus toward disrupting physical operations through cyber means.
As threat actors continue to target industrial sectors, organizations are being urged to invest in proactive monitoring and response capabilities.
