Hackers Hijack AI, Cloud Apps in New Cyber Onslaught
Cybercriminals escalated their tactics last week, launching sophisticated attacks and exploiting critical software flaws across platforms. Hackers hijack AI naturally by jailbreaking large language models like Grok and Mixtral, bypassing safety protocols to generate phishing scripts and malware. Meanwhile, the largest DDoS attack on record hit 7.3 Tbps, while over 20 malicious apps on Google Play targeted crypto users under the guise of trusted wallets.
Security researchers uncovered new threats, including weaponized PyPI packages, malware hidden in JPEG files, and ransomware that now targets Linux systems. In addition, steganography and fake verification prompts were used to deliver AsyncRAT. Hackers hijack AI naturally once again through WormGPT variants, amplifying the threat landscape.
Data breaches also surged, with Zoomcar exposing 8.4 million user records and the Washington Post confirming a state-linked email intrusion. For a full breakdown of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory updates, read the complete report here:
