Europol Shuts DDoS Sites, Arrests Four in Poland

Europol has announced the takedown of several websites offering distributed denial-of-service (DDoS)-for-hire services, along with the arrest of four individuals in Poland as part of its ongoing crackdown on cybercrime. The operation targeted illicit platforms that enable users to launch DDoS attacks without technical expertise, disrupting online services by overwhelming them with traffic.

The arrests and service disruptions are part of a coordinated effort by European law enforcement to dismantle the growing underground market for so-called “booter” or “stresser” services. These platforms have been linked to a surge in DDoS attacks affecting businesses, public institutions, and infrastructure providers.

Authorities did not disclose the names of the shuttered websites or the identities of the individuals arrested. However, the operation signals continued international efforts to reduce the accessibility of cyberattack tools online. Europol has emphasized that such services are illegal and that both operators and users face significant legal consequences.
