Europol Seizes 300 Servers in Global Ransomware Bust
European law enforcement agencies have dismantled a major ransomware infrastructure in a coordinated global crackdown, seizing 300 servers and freezing €3.5 million in assets, according to details emerging from the latest phase of Operation Endgame. The operation, which began in May 2024, targets networks that support or directly engage in ransomware attacks, including those providing initial access or aiding in post-compromise activities.
Authorities neutralized 650 domains and issued arrest warrants for 20 individuals connected to the targeted services. The servers and domains taken down were reportedly linked to cybercriminal platforms that facilitate the distribution and execution of ransomware across multiple regions.
This international action reflects growing cooperation among law enforcement bodies to disrupt cybercrime at its infrastructure level. By dismantling the digital backbone of ransomware operations, officials aim to reduce the frequency and impact of attacks that have crippled businesses and public institutions globally. Operation Endgame remains ongoing, with further actions expected.
