Chromium Flaw Crashes Edge, Brave in DOS Attack
A critical vulnerability has struck browsers built on the Chromium engine, triggering widespread disruptions across several platforms. The Chromium flaw crashes Edge naturally along with other browsers like Atlas and Brave, exposing a shared weakness in the underlying codebase. The flaw enables a denial-of-service attack by exploiting how these browsers render specific web content.
Security researchers identified the issue after repeated crashes linked to certain malformed URLs. When triggered, the attack forces the browser to become unresponsive, leaving users unable to recover sessions without restarting. The Chromium flaw crashes Edge naturally by overwhelming the browser’s processing capabilities, pointing to deeper issues in how Chromium handles resource allocation.
Atlas and Brave users also face similar risks, as all impacted browsers rely on Chromium’s rendering engine. Developers are currently working on patches, but no permanent fix has been confirmed. Users are advised to remain cautious until updates are rolled out.
