Apple Fixes iOS Flaws Threatening Privacy, Data Security

Apple rolled out iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 this week, delivering critical security patches across more than 50 vulnerabilities that could expose user data or crash core apps. The update spans iPhone 11 and newer, alongside a range of iPad models. Apple fixes iOS flaws by improving memory handling, tightening sandbox enforcement, and restricting app permissions to reduce data leakage and system instability.

Researchers from ByteDance, Trend Micro, Google, and independent experts uncovered many of the issues. Apple fixes iOS flaws in components such as WebKit, Kernel, and Accessibility, where flaws allowed cross-origin data theft, app fingerprinting, and denial-of-service attacks. In WebKit, Apple addressed use-after-free bugs and buffer overflows that could lead to crashes or code execution. Updates to Stolen Device Protection, Contacts, and CloudKit also boost privacy and system integrity.
